Children Painting Competition

Benevolence, rites and filial piety (ren, li and xiao) are central to the value system of traditional Chinese culture. Teachers and parents nurture children with positive values and attitudes to ensure that they grow up to be kind at heart, polite and considerate, and show respect to their parents and elders.

The Education University of Hong Kong’s (EdUHK’s) Hong Kong Museum of Education, in collaboration with the Department of Early Childhood Education and the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts, organised a Children’s Painting Competition, themed ren-li-xiao, recently to encourage children to show their creativity.

An award presentation officiated at by EdUHK’s Associate Vice President (Programme Development) Professor Dennis Cheng Kit-hung was held on 9 July 2016. Guest of Honour Dr Angela Luk Chiu Kwan-hung was joined by the Heads of the co-organising departments, adjudicators and guests in opening an exhibition showcasing 69 award-winning works.

The exhibition, located in D1-G-01 on the EdUHK Tai Po campus, will run from 8 to 30 July 2016 and is open to the public.
