Arts Bus: On the Move! 2014/15

Hosted by New World First Bus Services Limited & Citybus Limited and The Hong Kong Institute of Education, the “Arts Bus: On the Move! 2014/15” (“Art Bus”) has entered into the fourth year. The award presentation ceremony of “Stories of Hong Kong” Bus Body Design Competition was held in K11 Art Mall to commend 20 winners from the primary and secondary school categories. Meanwhile, the event also unveiled the upcoming community arts activities, including a mobile exhibition and a series of Arts Bus community tours, which are designed to encourage the public to appreciate arts and understand more about the community.

The Arts Bus designed by “Arts Bus” Art Director Chao Yat (famous comic writer) debuted at the ceremony. The design of the bus body depicts the everyday life of people, animals and even buildings in Hong Kong. Hamburger, Fatty and their buddies are floating in the air holding cotton candies that carry the collective memories of Hongkongers, and taking selfies at the same time. The buildings on the bus, which witness the development of our community, come into live, each with lively facial expressions. Besides, Hongkongers’ collective memories such as boars and Salt Water Crocodile "Pui Pui" are also featured. Furthermore, the bus is also a mobile museum, under the theme of “Education”, with precious photos provided by the Hong Kong Museum of Education showcased in the bus saloon, including old teaching aids, textbooks and school buildings, allowing passengers to understand more about the history of education development in Hong Kong.
